Composer in Residence

Kristopher Fulton, Composer-in-Residence Vancouver Cantata SingersKristopher Fulton is a composer who has studied both music composition and design. Armed with a strong sense of emotion, and often a heavy influence from modern day pop culture, his works have received acclaim by critics and audiences in cities across Canada, the U.S. and Europe, including commissions for the Vancouver Cantata Singers, Chor Leoni, Elektra Women’s Choir, the Vancouver Chamber Choir and Pro Coro and the Turning Point Ensemble.

Aside from the many commissions of his concert work, Kristopher’s works for dance have been regularly featured in the Vancouver International Dance Festival with choreographers such as Josh Beamish (MOVE the company), Amber Funk Barton (the response) and Julia Taffe (Aeriosa Dance Company). Additionally, he has scored several film productions in Vancouver, Toronto, Los Angeles and New York, two of which have been official selections of the Cannes Film Festival.

The Vancouver Cantata Singers are pleased to have Fulton as our Composer in Residence. His pieces are a delight to perform and have contributed to VCS winning the Healey Willan Grand Prize in both 2008 and 2011.
